Wedding Theme Wednesday: Blushing Pink

Here is a great post from Darcy Miller over at Martha Stewart's Weddings.

I just love the thought of thinking about spring even though we are still in the grip of winter.

Blush, Pink, Gold, and Green

Ok, so it's the dead of winter, but that doesn't mean I can't think spring. You're probably all gearing up for spring weddings anyway, right? So with that in mind, I think a subtle floral palette of pale pinks, golds, and greens is not only wishful thinking, but a good idea.

Take a peek at the garden roses below--they're soft and sophisticated without being overly prissy. And what garden would be complete without afternoon tea? I love the idea of serving tea embellished with edible flowers as seen below. And candy favors like the ones seen here always bring smiles to guests' faces. This simple but cheeky cake is decorated with hand made sugar paste carnations, which add just a touch of whimsy to an otherwise minimalist cake. And wedding gowns don’t always have to be white. Take a look at this shimmery Reem Acra pink silk tulle gown. It’s hand embroidered in silver thread with crystals and pearls, making it a romantic choice for a garden-party wedding.

Does this make you think of spring?
